Letter from Principal to Parents before Results

*Some schools in Kolkata India sent this letter to the parents a few weeks before the exams..*

Dear Parents,

The exams of your children are to start soon. I know you are all really anxious for your child to do well.

But, please do remember, amongst the students, who will be sitting for the exams, there is an artist, who doesn’t need to understand Maths.

There is an entrepreneur, who doesn’t care about History or English literature.

There’s a musician, whose Chemistry marks won’t matter.

There’s a sportsperson, whose physical fitness is more important than Physics..

Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark

I find many adults are put off when young children pose scientific questions. Why is the Moon round? the children ask. Why is grass green? What is a dream? How deep can you dig a hole? When is the world’s birthday? Why do we have toes? Too many teachers and parents answer with irritation or ridicule, or quickly move on to something else: ‘What did you expect the Moon to be, square?’
Children soon recognize that somehow this kind of question annoys the grown-ups. A few more experiences like it, and another child has been lost to science. Why adults … Read More

I am running

While running won’t make you lose weight, but it’s definitely a good exercise. You see, running is one of the best things we can do. I have started running from today 18th July, 2016. And will hopefully keep it up throughout the rest of the day. There is no rest day or holiday in this running streak. I gotta wake up and run. Plain and simple. Of course, hard to follow for someone who’s spent a good deal of his days waking up significantly late (at 9 am) than the time to go for run (5:30). Huge shift, right?

Why I Blog Every Day

I often tell myself that this is the lamest blog, ever. For that reason and to comply with my words, I blog here every day. More often that not, it’s personal rant against some brand, an opinion or a poorly researched blog post about some tool. This is yet another blog post. Yet another one written within less than 30 minutes. It’s not long and boring read, but it’s not valuable either. Because to be frank, I am not writing to be valuable. I am writing for myself. This blog serves as a personal journal, one with filters installed.

What is Trello? How It Makes You Productive?

One of the best productivity tools is Trello. It’s also a very efficient tool. Productivity is how much stuff you get done with respect to time. The more output you get, the better the productivity. It works like that. For developers and designers online, productivity is really important. Especially for those of us who are dependent upon themselves to motivate themselves to work, or else they don’t make a living. Men employed by organizations and companies most definitely have someone over them to push to them, to scare them and to make them get shit done. However there are still … Read More

Is SEO easy?

SEO or search engine optimization has always fascinated me. Reason? It’s constantly changing. It’s mysterious in nature and it’s really like decrypting an encryption. Definitely hard, but most definitely fun. Though I have not ranked high volume keywords or made millions ranking niche affiliate sites. But I believe to have firm grasp over SEO basics. These basics though are, I believe, enough for a legit site. It’s a good combination of on page SEO and Off Page SEO. Things like making the copy like a skirt; ‘A good speech should be like a woman’s skirt: long enough to cover the … Read More

2 Reasons You MUST Learn To Code

First of all, a disclaimer: follow this advice with a grain of salt. Because it does not come from a 50 year multi-million dollar worth entrepreneur. This comes from a teenage blogger and freelancer, who thinks he knows the importance of coding skill. Learning to code does not mean mastering it. So those of you who think I am asking you to sit in front of computer, writing code for 18 hours straight. The type of code you ought to learn to code needs no more than 14 hours investment per week. This may look like a lot of … Read More
